What is Boxycharm? For those that do not know, Boxycharm is a $21 monthly subscription service (with an average of $100+ value), created by Yosef Martin. Each month you will receive 4 to 5 (sometimes 6, which can be a sample) full-size products.
This month’s theme was Creepy Cute….
What I Received:
For the month of January, I received a sample size of the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation ($16), the Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Trio ($39.99), the RealHer Liquid Lipstick in I Deserve the Best ($15) and a lip liner in I Am Precious($12.50), Crown Brush Deluxe Fan Brush (18.99), All were full-size items, but the primer.
The Products (description courtesy of Boxycharm):
Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Trio – If you are a fan of the high-color payoff of our Pigments, you will NOT be disappointed in this new Palette. These highly pigmented pressed eyeshadows have a soft silky feel, and as with our pigments, a little goes a LONG way.
Okay, so for starters, I love this little trio. It is highly pigmented, blends like a dream without disappearing, and the lasting power is amazing. I was even able to create a look using these 3 shades (and 1 or 2 other shades from another palette) that I loved. However, I feel like the price for this trio is just way too high. I would be willing to pay maybe $20, but not $39.99 (and that’s the sale price).
RealHer I Deserve The Best – Rose Mauve (Medium Pink) Matte Liquid Lipstick – Lightweight formula glides onto lips, leaving super intense color with a bold, ultra-matte finish. Long wearing and completely kiss proof. Bomb formulation helps to combat dryness and nourish your lips during wear.
Now, I’m sad to say this, but I did not like this at all. The formula us just not quite there. The liquid lipstick did not dry down matte, maybe I should say not at all. And, since didn’t dry down, it left the lipstick feeling sticky on the lips. Every time I would put my lips together, it was a struggle to get them apart.
RealHer I Am Precious – Mauve (Medium Pink) Lip Liner –
- The premium formula glides on smoothly
- Long-lasting wear that does not feather or bleed
- Certified Cruelty-Free; Paraben Free
- Infused with Jojoba Seed Oil and Shea Butter
- Works perfectly with any RealHer lipstick or liquid lipstick
However, this lip pencil is amazing. It is smooth and creamy. Glides on the lips without tugging. It didn’t sink into the lines on my lips or exaggerate my dry patches.
Here are some swatches of both the liquid lipstick and lip liner.
Crown Brush Deluxe Fan SS023 – The Deluxe Syntho Fan is designed for light powder applications for all over the face as well as along the neck and décolleté. This ultra soft synthetic brush is especially useful in applying highlighting powders to the cheekbones, collarbones, and the higher points of the face for a natural glow….
I have tried this 2 different ways. The first was by using it as a highlighting brush. I didn’t quite like it for that. The brush is just too big. The second way was by contouring. Now, this I can get behind. It fits perfectly in the angles of my cheek and I’m able to blend out the contour seamlessly.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract, and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation, Smashbox’s best-selling, oil-free primer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.
Thanks to many subscription boxes/bags, I have had the honor of trying this multiple times. It’s one of my favorite foundation primers. It blurs and smoothes out my pores. 9 out of 10 would recommend.
Is the March Boxycharm box worth its price point? Yes, that it is. This month’s Boxycharm wasn’t the best I have ever gotten or even one of my top ten favorites, but what I did like/love made it worth the price. The Smashbox primer is one of my favorite primers, so I am more than happy to receive it. The RealHer Lip Liner is a beautiful, creamy ever day color for me. I am even (sort of) happy to receive the Crown Brush because you can never have too many brushes. And, while I wouldn’t personally buy the Name Cosmetics Trio, it is a great little palette to have and I am happy to have received it.
I cannot wait for next month. The sneak peeks are seriously giving me life.
Tell me below of what you received for the month of March and if you are excited about Aprils’s box.
