Can I say the perfect basic bit*ch palette? And, no I don’t mean that in a bad way. So, by now everybody and their mama should know about this palette. For the past few months, Jeffree Star has been teasing us about it, hell baby told us about it at about the same time the Beauty Killer Palette dropped. He stated in a video, that he has been working on it for the past 9 months, to improve the formula, which means “more pigmented, more soft, more buttery, and triple milled”.
The name Androgyny comes from always being called androgynous (masculine and feminine characteristics) when he was a young. He feels that the same gender ambiguity can be found in makeup. That while playing with the palette you would definitely get that same kind of vibe. The Androgyny Palette is “his” version of a neutral eyeshadow palette. That includes both cool & warm tones with a hint of earthiness (is that a word). It has metallics and super mattes, which are supposed to be really rich with pigment. Also, the pan size a huge (comparison down below). As for the palette itself, it is pink faux leather with gold letting and lizard/reptile skin detail and the entire thing is 100‰ vegan and cruelty-free.
I don’t you about anybody else, but I am on the fence about getting this palette. Don’t get me wrong, it looks beautiful, and if those swatches are anything to go by, pigmented as all hell. However, I thought the same thing about the Beauty Killer Palette and I have only used it maybe 3 times. I might just wait until I see a WOC (woman of color) use and review it first. Since I can’t go into a store and swatch or play with it myself. Overall, it’s on my maybe list, because one thing I do know is that I want to try out. Even if it’s just to find out if it’s going to be worth all the hype.
The Androgyny Palette is going to be $45 and is going on sale on March 4 10:00 am PST (1:00 PM EST) on their website. Not sure if it will be on Beautylish, will check and update later.
